Missionary Church of Tampa is affiliated with the Florida Multicultural District of the Assemblies of God. It was founded in 1967 by Pastors Gustavo and Iraida Jiménez, who led the congregation until 1978. Since then it has been pastored by Pastor Samuel López, Pastors Pedro and Victoria Lozada, Pastors Ricardo and Cira Rodríguez and, since 2013, Pastors David and Raquel Zamora, all affiliated with the Assemblies of God.

Our government is congregational, and our leadership structure is made up of an Advisory Board, deacons and deaconesses, and a Board of Trustees. Our organization allows us to offer spiritual guidance programs for children, teens, young people and adults through our different ministries.

Our vision reaches the Tampa community through Missionary Christian School (MCS), from kindergarten through high school, including VPK; prayer houses and Bible studies in neighborhoods and condominiums; a program to help families in need; and the yearly delivery of more than 300 backpacks to children in need, among other community projects.

We have sent missionaries to the Middle East, East Asia and the Caribbean, and we financially support other missionaries around the world. We take part in several mission projects: a children's feeding center in Honduras, relief after natural disasters inside and outside the United States, and shipping Bibles to other countries.

Missionary Church of Tampa is a landmark of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Tampa Bay area. Our doctrine and message are Christ-centered: we emphasize confession, repentance and the forgiveness of sins, salvation by grace alone and not by works, and commitment and a sense of belonging to Christ and His church. We are a community of faith that disciples new believers and strengthens the faith of those already serving in its ranks.

Estas son las verdades fundamentales que confesamos:The Bible is our only all-sufficient rule of faith and conduct. These are the fundamental truths we confess:

  1. La inspiración verbal de las Escrituras, confiables e inerrantes (2 Timoteo 3:15-17; 1 Tesalonicenses 2:13; 2 Pedro 1:21).The verbal inspiration of the Scriptures, trustworthy and inerrant (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).
  2. El único Dios verdadero, el eterno YO SOY revelado en la Biblia (Deuteronomio 6:4; Isaías 43:10-11).The one true God, the eternal I AM revealed in the Bible (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11).
  3. La adorable Deidad: Dios Padre, Dios Hijo y Dios Espíritu Santo (Juan 1:18; 15:26; 17:11, 21; Zacarías 14:9).The adorable Godhead: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (John 1:18; 15:26; 17:11, 21; Zechariah 14:9).
  4. La deidad del Señor Jesucristo (Isaías 7:14; 9:6; Juan 1:1, 14; 5:17-32; 20:25-28; Romanos 9:5; Hebreos 1:1-3, 8; 1 Juan 5:20).The deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; John 1:1, 14; 5:17-32; 20:25-28; Romans 9:5; Hebrews 1:1-3, 8; 1 John 5:20).
The fall of man, who by voluntary transgression disobeyed God and brought upon himself physical and spiritual death (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19).
The salvation of man by grace alone, received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7).
The ordinance of water baptism by immersion, as a symbol of the new birth in Christ (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4).

The baptism in the Holy Spirit as an experience distinct from and subsequent to the new birth (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31).
